The Laboratory
Guthrie County Hospital maintains a well equipped lab with the latest technology.  We employee 5 full time technologists and one part time phlebotomist. 90% of tests are done in-house with the remainder sent to our reference lab (Pathology Laboratory) in Des Moines, IA. The testing we do includes  Chemistry, Coagulation, Hematology, Immunohematology, Immunology and Urinalysis.  Our patients include in-patients as well as out-patients.  We draw out-patients from 7:30am to 5:00pm. We encourage patients to call and set up an appointment but walk-ins are welcome.
